The new Yves Saint Laurent sunglasses collection sees the "Cassandra" logo - the French maison's hallmark logo with the initals YSL intertwined and overlapping - thrown into the limelight. The logo appears as an insert on metal frames at the tenon of temples or in openwork over forked temples, where it is positioned horizontally and adorned all over with diamante.
Another theme of the collection is the canvas effect knurled pattern which appears on metal inserts, echoing the fabric of YSL accessories, and between the front and temples as a hinge mechanism, or as a decorative detail on the inside of temples or lugs.
The collection offers a number of interesting designs: maxi-sized mask models in metal or acetate in elegant sunglasses of grey and ruthenium, brown and green, mauve and aubergine purple, not to mention oval and rectangular models in acetate sporting very recherché colours: rust, peacock blue, plum, green, together with classic tortoise shell and black. There are also highly distinctive boxy frames in metal with toric contoured lenses with the bridge open over the nose, in classic sunglasses of ruthenium, light gold, aubergine.
The prescription frames collection features feminine models in acetate with metal plates on the lugs bearing the laser engraved logo all over, cats eyes frames featuring metal tabs on its temples and others still in cello-metal with distinctive forked temples.
